Creating Lasting Memories: Being Present in Your Children’s Lives

Spend some lovely experiences with children in such a way that they become memories that they will love for the rest of their lives.

Since I had a two-year-old son, I was worried about how to raise him. Sometimes, I used to get angry, so I started to realize that I should take care of it properly and that I must go through some training. With this reference, I began listening to audiobooks. I enjoy listening to TEDx talks, which can range from scientific to psychological in nature.

One day, while listening to TEDx, I came across a story about making memories with children. I got caught up in the concept since it was so interesting. I was regretting why I didn’t hear this before or did not know about it earlier.

It is also important for teachers to make memories with children.

It is not only for parents to make memories with children, but also equally important for teachers too. Teachers can make memories with children by providing a good environment in the classroom and engaging them in interesting activities.

Memories can be made with children in a variety of ways. For example, you take them to a mountain, go for a morning walk, cook together, go camping, decorate a house or room or have a competition.

When I was writing these memories, I shared some of these exploits on my social media platform. At the same time, I saw that some parents raised their objections that they are making their children earn hard. Where do they have the money or the time to make memories with children? I believe that children never see whether you are rich or poor, they care about how you make them feel.

I Want Every Parent Knew This-Dr. Afzal Badshah

You worked all day and returned home late at night. Sat with the children, fed them and asked about their day. If you are somewhere out, video chat with the kids at night. Children tell stories with great interest, and you listen to them attentively. You gave them such life advice at times that they had no idea what Baba had said, but this is their mind. They will undoubtedly remember and follow it as they get older.

Zakir Khan is a very famous comedian. I also listen to his good humour but the life he worked hard to build impresses me more. He is frequently asked how he got to this point, particularly since he comes from a normal family. So, he gives a straightforward answer that really impresses me.

He says Baba (father) said that Zakir would become a great man, but the problem was that Baba did not tell him what kind of great man and how to become. He just kept Baba’s words in mind and started to work hard. He spent the day and the night awake, and Allah gave him the fruit.

You do not have to wait for the money to arrive to make memories with the kids. You can give them your quality time, life experiences, and lessons by telling stories. You can direct them to their goals. And as a parent, once you set a goal for them, kids achieve it very smartly.

Use this activity to improve your parenting skills

Go back to your childhood and recall what are the moments with your parents that you miss the most. Practice these moments with your children. You can also read to your children what they like. Do they like cooking outside? Love hiking? Love cycling? Or like fishing etc. Spend moments with them as they want. Try to keep it changing. For example, if you are fishing this month, next month will be hiking.
